The Conversation Train
Coming in late 2026...
When Evana’s pet chameleon passes away, her world stops. Stuck in a train station, she realises that to move forward, she has to find the courage to board a train and find a new friend. But for Evana, the hardest part of the journey isn't the distance - it's the friction of the first “hello”.
Guided by the audience, Evana must navigate a series of challenging encounters. From a passenger who only wants small talk to a competitive historian who loves spewing facts, Evana learns that a conversation is a collaboration, not a competition. When an angry man pulls the "emergency brake”
on her confidence, she must find the resilience to manage
her anxiety and keep her tracks clear.
This show explores mental health and wellbeing
by teaching children practical conversation
techniques to better navigate their world,
through a technique called “The Conversation
Train”. Drawing on our experience in education, we
will create a toolkit for communication - not just for peer-to-peer interaction, but for dialogue between children and adults. By using clear formats and sequences, the production offers a structured social map that is particularly supportive for neurodivergent children and those who thrive on predictable patterns of connection.
